Here is a chance to go over everything we've already learned at the full-day Fly Fishing 101 course, except this time it is on the water and only a couple hours long.
You do not need to have attended the Fly Fishing 101 course to take this refresher! Reid Otto and I will briefly go over the basics of knots, components, and casting instructions. After that brief session, we will open the floor and discuss all of your questions and any issues that have arisen since you've gotten started with fly fishing. Once we've spent enough time with your questions, we'll hit the water and catch some fish! We're optimistic that we will have the opportunity to demonstrate proper netting techniques along with correct fish handling (or lack thereof) for the purpose of catch and release. Water boatmen and backswimmer flies should be working well at this time of year. The fishing may actually be quite good...fingers crossed!
This two-and-a-half-hour course will be held on Sunday, September 10th at the Cardiff Trout Pond. Once you are booked, and a few days ahead of the date, we'll communicate with you the exact meetup spot. The course will run from 5-7:30 pm
You will need to bring any snacks and drinks for yourself along with all of your own fishing gear. We'll have some gear too, in case backups are required. As ever, if you have any questions, email John at firstname.lastname@example.org
